Will you or a loved one soon have surgery? If so, here’s a new way to manage your pain following surgery. It’s called the ACCUFUSER® post-op
pain control pump, and it gives you personal control of your own pain management in the days after your surgery. The benefits for you or your loved one are a better recovery and greater satisfaction while using significantly less narcotic medication.
The ACCUFUSER® pump is a medical device that is prescribed by a physician such as your surgeon or anesthesiologist. It has made recovery easier and more comfortable for many patients following general, orthopedic, plastic / aesthetic and other surgical procedures.
Explore this website to learn more about the ACCUFUSER® pump from Curlin Medical. Then talk with your surgeon to determine if the ACCUFUSER® pump is appropriate for your surgical procedure.
The ACCUFUSER® pump is a small, portable medical device which contains a balloon filled with non-narcotic pain medication, similar to what dentists use to numb the mouth. The ACCUFUSER® pump delivers the medication through a tiny tube called a catheter under the surgical incision. The ACCUFUSER® pump medicates the incision area continuously to provide you pain relief for up to 5 days after your surgery.
If prescribed by your surgeon, the bolus button feature of the ACCUFUSER® pump allows you to deliver additional doses of non-narcotic medication for more personalized pain control and greater comfort.
During your procedure, the surgeon will insert the catheter under your surgical incision. Afterwards, the surgeon will connect the catheter to the ACCUFUSER® pump and activate it. The ACCUFUSER® pump will automatically deliver continuous non-narcotic medication for up to 5 days to relieve your pain. If needed for extra pain relief, just press the bolus button to deliver a dose of additional non-narcotic pain medication.
When medication delivery is complete, the catheter removes easily and the pump is discarded. Catheter removal may be performed by your surgeon or nurse, or they may instruct you how to do it.
Made of non-latex materials, the ACCUFUSER® pump is safe and simple to use. The convenient carrying pouch lets you take it anywhere you want to go during recovery (not available on 100 mL model).
Patients using the ACCUFUSER® pump often describe a feeling of "cool water" when the non-narcotic medication is delivered to the area of their surgery. Whatever it feels like to you, you’ll experience a better recovery without the unwanted side effects often associated with narcotic pain medications.
